Announcing the First Title in Our Zionist Reader Series
We will publish collections of the writings from pro-Israel thinkers, writers, and activists. We're starting here.
I am excited to announce today that God of the Desert Books now has under contract the first in an ongoing series of books presenting Zionist writings, The Jack Saltzberg Reader.
I worked with Jack from 2018 through 2021 as Director of Research for his nonprofit Zionist activist organization The Israel Group. Together we focused on one primary target which Jack had realized was a key component in the spreading of propaganda supporting the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement: Wikipedia. So for 20 hours a week for years I helped Jack in trying to figure out how to counter the anti-Israel ideas which had come to run wild in what has become one of the primary sources of information for people all over the planet.
Jack deeply inspired me, and I named him as one of the reasons why I chose to refocus my career on Zionist activism:
Jack died from a heart attack in July 2021. Since then, his widow Katherine and I have been collaborating to determine how best to honor Jack and continue his mission. We’ve determine that a solid place to begin is with this book in which we seek to crystalize just who Jack was, what he sought to do, and what we can learn from him today.
We will be compiling and editing Jack’s writings this year and hope to publish this title in fall or winter 2025, though we may be able to move more quickly for an earlier release date. In the style and format for this title, God of the Desert will release collections from other Zionists, both those prominent and also more unknown, emerging writers.
Looking forward to it. This is an extremely valuable endeavour.
