I'm very tempted to ask about the author's theory of souls. I have a perverse interest in bad mysticism. (There was this one website in the very early days of the internet that earnestly and incoherently argued that "In the Court of the Crimson King" by King Crimson was discussing the Breaking of the Vessels, all based on a mondegreen of "prism" for "prison.")
All that aside, it is a serious problem and I worry that our whole intellectual heritage will be subject to an infinitely iterating Xerox Effect.
Catholicism?? you have to be joking. This is the religion of the Inquisition, the religion where to this day my Catholic friend who is a nun in Italy believes that all other christian religions (Church of England etc) are something between atheism and satanism. She didn't come up with this idea on her own.
That is the pre-Vatican II variety. This new Pope has made clear that he is not of that theology and is a firm supporter of Jewish-Catholic brotherhood. See the entirety of what I excerpted about the Churchβs official statement condemning antisemitism.
Theoretically agree with you but I am afraid - from talking to nuns 'on the ground' in Italy - that many nuns (and probably also the priests who seem to be much more conservative than the nuns) think that the current and recent popes are some kind of antichrist and would prefer to go back to pre-Vatican II.
The fact that there is a minority of Catholics with that position is well known. Nick Fuentes and Candace Owens are advocating this view basically and I am wanting to bring together Jews, Catholics, and others together in opposition to it. What is your point?
Sorry we seem to be at cross purposes! basically I don't understand why you say that you advocate for bringing together Jews and Catholics rather than Jews and Christians?
Because a whole lot of Christians arenβt interested in that since they insist on converting Jews and me. Iβm happy to work with and bring on board other Christians. But a whole lot of Evangelical and fundamentalist Christians hate me and judge me and would never want to work with me as a result. And my being openly Queer and pro-LGBTQ and anti-Trump and mystical just makes them more uncomfortable.
oh dear! the US certainly does seem to have a disproportion of evangelists and fundamentalists - although Catholicism has elements of these too. I always liked the Quakers.
