David, as a rule, when anthropomorphism makes an entrance, Jewish tradition is exit stage left. The Prophets, as the Torah itself, spoke in terms that could be grasped and understood by any literate Jew. So, for example, if God is burning with anger, it is because Israel has left the designated and known path (and not because God is very angry). This is not me--you will encounter this once you move into Maimonides' Guide.

I'm pulling out my dust coated copy and will be following along. Good job!
