There Is An Exit: An Open Letter to Dan Bongino
Now begins the Last Temptation of MAGA...
Dear Mr. Dan Bongino,
I understand full well that I'm one of the last people you'd consider taking advice from.
There you are, Mr. Tough guy, former NYPD, Secret Service, now #2 at the FBI, sitting on a pile of millions of dollars and a legion of loyal fans. Many legions, in fact, I'd say, since a legion was only about 5000-6000 men and you've now got 7 million followers on X, 3.3 million on Truth social, and with the second highest following on Rumble after InfoWars.
Congratulations, it's not like these people who have clicked a button to follow your internet content are the same as leather-strapped warriors ready to stick a spear into another man at your command, but it's the closest most men outside of an authoritarian slave state or terrorist group are likely to get. You've got your own little army here who trusts you.
Now here's the calculation to make.
And, no, I'm not going to make any broad moral argument or religious case or pull in any of my occult, supernatural, woo-woo bullshit. I'm talking your language now, not mine, the rhetoric of the nickels and dimes, the bitcoins and tech bros.
Let's say you resign from the FBI tomorrow and simply say to your audience "I've read the Epstein files, Elon is right that Trump is in them, and I cannot work for him anymore or participate in any effort to cover this up any longer."
How much of your audience would stay with you?
Then, step two: would the new audience you gain from this move, supplant the amount that you would lose?
(I make this calculation all the time with provocative Substack pieces here, hoping that something I know will alienate some subscribers into dropping, will in turn draw in more people than we’ll lose.)
In this situation, from a simple risk analysis, I'd have to encourage you in this move.
And it's really the professional and financial advice I offer to every single person choosing to work in support of President Donald John Trump right now:
The fucking ship is sinking. The cracks in the hull are obvious and she's taking on water.
Dan, there are only so many seats in the life raft for those seeking to escape. And those who move fast now can survive.
And not just survive, but totally thrive.
You saw the pro-Trump MAGA market and you made a fortune off of it. Now that you have seen the files and know full well an insider secret about this market, you know full well it's time to fucking dump the stock before it tanks any further. And right there on the horizon is the anti-Trump, burn-it-all-down market.
I'll offer you a historical example to consider here, someone I imagine you crossed paths with in the last decade before he died this year, my former friend, mentor, boss, and ultimately nemesis David Horowitz.
More so than really anyone in history, David made a fucking business out of being an ex-leftist. The first 40 years of his life he spent within the Left, the last 45 years of his life he spent attacking it in order to make millions upon millions of dollars to pay for his trophy wife's horse obsessions.
He became one of the leading opponents and dissectors of leftist politicians, ideologies, and movements—often going so far in my experience that it became a performative exaggeration to emotionally manipulate ignorant people into donating to him. And ultimately, he laid the pseudo-intellectual, hardball activist foundations for what became Trumpism. What William F. Buckley, Jr. was to Ronald Reagan and that generation of conservatism, Horowitz was to Trump and the Right of today, where you made magnitudes more money than he did.
And so now the wheel turns to you, Dan.
Will you see the financial and social opportunity here to shift markets from performing for the Trump Right to performing for everyone from center-right to far-left? Don't you see that there are more people over there who can buy merch than those who will remain Trump die-hards even if pictures of him with adolescent girls in Epstein's mansion emerged?
And there’s another factor here that's worth emphasizing and that you've no doubt already considered. You and I are going to outlive Trump, who is one Big Mac or one bungled Secret Service jump away from becoming a chapter in the history books that future children skip over, having the AI summarize it for them with cartoons instead.
So that is the case: very simple, pragmatic, and offering bountiful wealth and acclaimed social opportunities.
Who cares what the morally right thing is to do or what God wants you to do or what you should do in light of the hidden reality that numerous legions of demonic influences have set up shop at every corner of Trump's body.
Where is the money for YOU, Dan Bongino?
It is to be found in burying the movement which made you wealthy.
That's exactly what the fuck we want to see now.
food for thought,
David Swindle

If the DOJ delivers convictions of professional Corruptocrats, Bongino, Patel, and Bondi will maintain some respectability (and, even, "swag"). As a lot of people have, I've been disappointed at this Administration's flimsy effort to ignore Epstein-Maxwell crimes. Maybe Bongino likes being DEPDIR. Maybe his goal is to, eventually lead the Bureau. I don't speculate too much on "inner-gear" workings of D.C. politics, although I usually keep and update a, "wish list."
