I’d go a step further: Everything is downstream from culture. The cultures you embrace determine who you are and who you become. You become what you worship.

I then presented him with four links collecting Paul’s history of antisemitism which I argued derived from the anarchist views of his mentor Murray Rothbard who was also an antisemite. This tough keyboard warrior who self-style himself as a “Right-wing Ronin” and “MagaWarlord” didn’t have the testicular fortitude - or apparent brain power - to answer my question:

Thursday morning a few more tweets from “@WingRonin” showed up in my feed so I decided to respond. First he objected to democracy, apparently because he’s so in love with the imperial warrior authoritarian ideology of his idol, the genocidal mass murderer Vladimir Putin:

Democracy is very overrated

Yes, democracy has its problems and annoyances, particularly in its most raw, extreme forms, but I do believe that democracy blended with republicanism - both the rule of the people moderated by the rule of law and the quality of equality which that brings are entirely defensible ideologies which have proven themselves over time and which I embrace. I am a Constitutionalist, like my business partner Mike Kilgore. So I shot back a point he again could not answer:

Insisting that a media figure is secretly being controlled or manipulated by “Zionist masters in Israel” is a standard, common form of antisemitism and I called him on it:

I’m not sure if it’s really that tweet which set him off or the next one I hit him up with in response to his anti-immigration, nativist stance, which from previous interactions with him I’d come to understand was the issue he obsessed over the most:

Every time I hear some right-wing jerk blathering on about “America First” it reads to me as, “I’m an ignorant narcissist who only cares about people who look like me and I’m totally ignorant about how it’s in our nation’s benefit to support free societies around the world, including militarily.”

One of my favorite followers, a very thoughtful, morally-centered woman named Joanne Mason then responded, linking her own recent tweet on the subject:

I tend to be a bit of a cynic, but I find it remarkably moving seeing immigrants swear the oath to America at their citizenship ceremonies. Our is a country of endless possibilities, a beautiful tapestry of traditions and ideas, and we cheat ourselves is we forget that.

It was then after noticing her reply that I saw this tough guy, self-styled “ronin” and “warlord” had retreated from my basic rebuttals of his propaganda. I saw that my quote tweets challenging him had all been replaced by “You’re unable to view this Tweet because this account owner limits who can view their Tweets.”

So I do what I always do when I so infuriate some far right motherfucker and odious antisemite that they can’t handle engaging with me. Time for the little spike-the-football victory dance:

It amuses me so deeply when macho men who claim to be tough guy Trump supporters and Vladimir Putin advocates get so triggered by my tweets critiquing them - that they have to run away and hide like scared children. Confront the antisemites & racists, their ideology is just fear.

Oh, the “ronin” and “warlord” can’t handle a disagreement from chronically sick little Zionist me? Why is that? Because intense ideologues’ ideology is based on fear - fear of other people not like them, fear of the possibility that their intense ideological views may be so easily proven wrong by anyone with even a basic understanding of history and American political culture.

Well, I say this: confront the racists endlessly and call them out on their fear. Label the Putin apologists what they are: amoral supporters of the genocide of the Ukrainian people. Point out and condemn antisemitism in whichever perverse form it manifests. I’m going to keep doing it and I urge everyone else to take a similar militant attitude here. Social media is a fucking disgusting cesspool of hate and extremist ideologies of all sorts. Fight back and don’t let them get away with their evil bullshit.
