For fiction I just found the substack below…and I really enjoy Mitch Horowitz and Virgin Monk Boy…and I am finding a lot of smaller substacks I am enjoying but are still building more content…but Im excited from what I have found so far…I write both essays and fiction and honestly I am having a hard time finding fiction I love on here…I know its here somewhere haha…but it requires digging…..
I have yet to find much fiction on here that has grabbed my attention too. So we’re starting to do more fiction at our other substacks. Over at Heroes of the Desert we’ve started a series of character sketches for characters we’re considering using in some group stories. https://heroesofthedesert.substack.com/
I liked that Virgin Monk Boy initially but then I started to feel like their writing was all AI-written. In general, I tend not to get into anonymous writers.
I get that. And I have the same feeling about anonymity…when I first started here I didn't really think about it and just called it The Orphanage HQ…but then I got a message saying “Dear Orphanage…and I thought no no no…that's not what I meant to do haha. It's a learning curve…
There's a lot of interesting stuff and serious writing on this list, so it's kind of a surprise to find myself here. Thanks, man.
