Last year I announced a key evolution in our publishing company, our transition from God of the Desert Books to God of the Desert Digital Media Studios. We will continue to publish, promote, and celebrate books, but they are no longer central to our identity as a media company.
And in the same way, I am pushing this pivot too personally. I am learning how to livestream and will be upping my podcasting game. Writing will always be central to who I am. It was the path I chose for myself in third grade, but we all must evolve.
So one of the things that I’ve chosen to do is to paywall our content after six months, and that includes putting most of our archives now behind the paywall, with the exceptions of key pieces that I still look back on and value as especially important.
