Click here to check out the first 30 Installments - Volume I - in this series on Antisemitism and Culture. The top 5 most important pieces from this first wave:

  1. What It Means When the Leader of the Republican Party Dines With THREE Antisemites

  2. What Causes Someone to Be an Antisemite?

  3. How the Bible Reveals the 3 Types of Antisemites

  4. 7 Reasons This Christian Hippie Became a Zealot Against Jew Hatred

  5. What Zionism Means to Me Today

This is the 20th installment in Volume II, intended as another 30 pieces exploring the many manifestations of Jew Hatred and the issues surrounding it in America and globally. See the 19 previous installments listed at the end of this article.

These writings are part of my ongoing effort to overcome my PTSD by forcing myself to try to write and publish something every day commenting on and analyzing current cultural affairs and their impacts on politics, faith, and, well, everything. “Politics is downstream from culture,” the late Andrew Breitbart popularized among conservative bloggers while he was alive. I’d go a step further: Everything is downstream from culture. The cultures you embrace determine who you are and who you become. You become what you worship.

With as much time as I spend blasting various antisemites in this ongoing series, I really need to spend more time praising those working to fight Jew hatred and supporting them however I can. I need to do more pieces like my last one in this series praising actor-turned-activist Noa Tishby.

So I was very happy yesterday to finally get a chance to publish an article yesterday by

Sadie-Rae Werner
who I found recently after somehow stumbling across her excellent
Horse of a Different Colour
Substack. See her debut post here from yesterday:

Ayanot: Proving Women as Equals in Building the Nation of Israel
Walking around the streets of Tel Aviv, it’s hard to imagine that a mere 75 years ago, less than a lifetime ago for my grandmother, it did not yet exist. The Israel we dreamed of; the Israel we longed for; the one we said we would be in, next year, at the end of every Passover Seder for our years in exile, looked very little like the country y…

Dividing the commercial and expressive components of BDS
On Tuesday, The Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear the appeal of the editor of the Arkansas Times following an Eighth Circuit appellate court ruling that upheld Arkansas’ law penalising boycotts of Israel engaged in by entities contracting with the government. This puts a definite end to the ongoing litiga…

There's nothing funny about Farrakhan
After scrolling through the mixed reactions in articles and on Twitter to Jonah Hill's new rom-com You People that dropped on Netflix in Canada last week, I decided I needed to see it for myself. And to put it briefly, as I expect the following to be anything but…

At a loss for words on International Holocaust Remembrance Day
The week leading up to today got off to a good start when it comes to defending and preserving the memory of the Holocaust. That’s an odd sentence. Thanks for reading Horse of a Different Colour ! Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work…

We need to support organizations holding Amazon accountable for not removing Holocaust denial products.
The above graphic was created by the official #NeverAgainAmazon campaign. Please feel free to copy and share it to your personal social media. In December 2021, I realized in a bit of a blind panic that I did not have a menorah. We were one week out from Chanukah and I was living in a small town in the middle of nowhere with no Jewish community in sight…

2022 was a year of sportswashing like no other
It’s been a good year for athletes, but a bad year for athletics. We started the year with the Beijing Olympics and closed it out with the World Cup in Qatar. Book-ending this year in February and December we have been bombarded with sportswashing, like never before. By the time the opening ceremonies of the 2022 Beijing…

Inflatable dinosaurs and Maccabees
This is the culmination of a week of small cues that came together for me while walking the dog late on Friday evening. It was nearly midnight, and we were the only ones on the street. The dog was busy, scanning fences for signs of other dogs having been there when we came upon a yard filled to the brim with inflatab…

Common knowledge of the Holocaust is still up in the air in a Montreal court room
It’s been a heavy week for me not only as an articling student (hence the timing of publication this week), but particularly as a Jewish person. I have been watching the rise of Antisemitism locally and globally, including overhearing a conversation blaming Jews for why Jurassic Park has never been achieved in reality (you can’t make this stuff up) and …

The privilege to participate in conversations about Antisemitism
In his controversial 2021 Netflix special, “The Closer”, Dave Chappelle pleaded with his audience not to “abort DaBaby”, referring to a rapper whose career ended suddenly after he made homophobic comments on stage earlier that year and not because he shot and killed someone in a North Carolina, Walmart in 2018. He wa…

Look around
The last few weeks have been somewhat of a rarity in discussions of Antisemitism: it’s making headlines and there are no dead Jews. Given that Antisemitic hate crimes account for over 62% of all hate crimes based on religion, it seems like the kind of thing that should be discussed far more often than in the event of a m…

One of the other things about Sadie-Rae that I find especially interesting is that while we’re both technically part of the Millennial generation, we each more exist at the edges of it, blending somewhat with the previous and next generations. I need to continue to bug her to get her perspective on these generational themes which I find so very fascinating!
