Well written and very good points. Have you read any Neal Postman or Marshall Mcluhan? I personally still have a flip phone. I waste enough time on my laptop at home, I like to be present when im out in the workd! I agree with you 100% on limiting oneself, putting the phone on the other room etc etc.
Thanks so much! Yes, I am familiar with their work but more so the media theorist today who they influenced, Douglas Rushkoff. Do you know his work? He is the video I embedded in the middle of the piece. He’s probably the thinker alive today who has most influenced me.
O shit Genesis P-Orridge? Im sold "Simultaneously, Rushkoff continued to develop his relationship with counterculture figures, collaborating with Genesis P-Orridge as a keyboardist for Psychic TV, "
Nothing Sacred and Testament are my favorites. But Life Inc was also a huge influence. His new book Survival of the Richest is great too. https://rushkoff.com/books/
